Where is she now?
Lisa Kent, Miss Maine 1988 and owner/operator of Kent Staples in Gorham, shares with us what is happening with her in her own words in the spring of 2007...
1988 was the year I was crowned Miss Maine. It was a rewarding experience! I'd like to thank again all the people who supported me. I like to describe it as being Cinderella for a year. Since that time I have a 16-year-old daughter and the many challenges of parenting. I have been listed as #6 in the country in 1997, for my winnings in 3-day Eventing, on my Olympic (long-listed) mount named Spiderman. He is now teaching students to be horseman/women. Among other students our facility has educated over the years, one in particular received #4 in the country novice 2004, and #1 in the country at training level in 2005. This was also on a horse I raised and trained, very exciting! What am I doing now? I have moved to West Palm Beach, Florida and am newly engaged. We have just purchased a 10-acre farm with great excitement! I am still pursuing the Olympics, in hopes my next mount will be my yearling Topgun. It’s a long process raising and training with hopes they are a Michael Jordan. Then to have a career injury free. It’s the journey! God bless and may the new Miss Maine have a wonderful journey!
