“Running for Miss Maine was one of the best decisions I’ve made.”

“…Miss Maine has prepared me for the real world and she said that my interview with her really showed that. I'm further in my career than a lot of people my age, and I owe a lot of that to the Miss America program. Even outside my political career, pageantry has contributed to who I am. I keep telling people that running for Miss Maine was one of the best decisions I've made.”

— Stefanie Veneziano, competed in 2009 and 2010. Winner of the Steven Jensen Memorial Scholarship in 2009

A Message From Our Executive Director

Scholarship. Service. Style. Success. These are our values.

This organization is special. It is more than a competition. It is an opportunity for young women to grow, to learn and to serve. It is a chance to earn scholarships. It is a platform for you to use your voice, to make an impact about things that matter. It is a showcase for your unique talents. It is a way to build relationships and make lifelong friends. The Miss Maine Scholarship Program is all of these things. And if you believe in those four values, - scholarship, service, style, and success - then you should be a part of it.

It is true that every year one woman goes on to compete at Miss America and one teen goes to Miss America's Outstanding Teen. But every young woman who competes at every level gets the opportunity to learn and grow - to practice interview skills and public speaking in a safe environment, to engage in public service, and to perform in front of a crowd. Every young woman has the chance to mentor a child who looks up to her, and to be a role model in her community. Every young woman has the chance to win scholarships, even if she doesn't ultimately take home the crown. Participating in this program means you will challenge yourself, and be challenged by others.

Come join us as a candidate for the job of Miss Maine or Miss Maine's Outstanding Teen, or come join us as a donor or a volunteer. Come be a part of it.

Looking forward,

Sarah Nadeau-Balducci, Executive Director
